Tropical Bedroom

Mr. and Mrs. Client came to me for help redesigning their son's bedroom. He had recently moved out to go off to college. Now that the room could be used more as a guest bedroom, they wanted the space to look nice for guests and feel more spacious yet still feel appropriate for their son to feel at home when he was back from school. Since the closet storage space was no longer necessary and they wanted more space, I pushed the bed into the closet. This allowed room for an accent chair and table and also made the bed a cozy focal-point in the space.  This home has all-white walls in every room. The clients wanted to experiment with some color but did not want a drastic change from the rest of the house. My solution was a partially painted wall in a soft green. This grounded the space and gave color but because eye-level of the room was white, it blended well with the rest of the home.
